Verbal IQ, race, nativity, ADD Health wave 1
I went back and looked through the ADD health data. I defined “White,” “Black,” “Hispanic,” and “Asian” as anyone who identified as such. I defined “native” as anyone who indicated that they and both of their parents were born in the US. I defined “2nd Gen” as anyone who indicated that they were born in the US and who also indicated that one or both of their parents were not.

Very interesting series of posts. Have you considered the evidence from, say, Britain? Where there is a similar phenomenon, and is an interesting case partly because it rules out the possibility of explaining African-immigrant success in terms of affirmative action.
My impression is that, once again, they attain degrees at a high level, but don’t necessarily get particularly good grades, etc.
